8 Thanksgiving Activities for Preschoolers

November is a great time to practice preschool skills while talking about gratitude, family traditions, and the changing season.  These activities can be used during classroom centers, small-group lessons, or at home throughout November.

 These simple activities give children opportunities to practice counting, sorting, fine motor skills, and language through crafts, books, and hands-on activities.

1. Thankful Tree

Create a classroom tree using paper branches and leaves. Ask children to draw something they are thankful for on a paper leaf. Add their leaves to the tree and invite them to talk about their drawings.

2. Turkey Counting

Cut out paper turkeys and feathers. Give children a number and ask them to place the matching number of feathers on each turkey. This activity helps practice counting and number recognition.

3. Thanksgiving Coloring Pages
