Teaching Ideas

 Encourage children to point to each dot in order and move around the shape slowly before drawing their lines. You can reinforce pre-writing skills by having them say simple motions like “up,” “down,” or “around” as they connect each dot. After finishing the outline, invite kids to color their gingerbread cookie using crayons, markers, or colored pencils. For a sensory twist, let them place mini manipulatives on each dot before connecting them.
